Due to its abundance of options, wholesale Android TV box may be easily overwhelmed, making it easy to overlook certain very important features. Every new version of Android is accompanied by a rush of flashy new features. While some of them quietly go without much fanfare, others instantly change the way we operate.

Then there are the features that lie in the between; these are the elements that, while first intriguing and seemingly helpful, eventually get lost in the shuffle and forgotten. It’s all too easy to ignore and give up on those characteristics, especially when they’re hidden and not at all visible.

Quick App Switching

Among the least obvious and discoverable improvements to hit Android in a long time is also one of the most helpful. I’m referring to the rapid app-switching feature that works similarly to Alt-Tab and was initially in Android 7 (2016). It’s still one of my favorite Android shortcuts.

It’s okay if you forgot about it or never knew about it at all since, to be honest, there’s nothing at all that would have led you to believe it existed. Additionally, it has changed somewhat over time, increasing the likelihood that you would forget where it is.

Speaking of App-Related Shortcuts

Android boasts a very effective mechanism named, appropriately enough, App Shortcuts. But these wonderful little suckers are entirely concealed from view, and as a result, they are frequently disregarded.

However, Google Almighty, are they helpful? App shortcuts are shortcuts that allow you to quickly access specific areas or actions within apps on your phone without having to open the app, navigate its menus, and tap several commands to get there. You can think of App Shortcuts as direct links to specific functions within apps.

Real-Time Captioning

With the introduction of Google’s Android 10, the operating system gained an unexpected gem that may prove to be far more helpful than initially thought. Technically speaking, Live Caption is an accessibility function for those with hearing impairments.

Live captioning helps in that situation, but it may also be useful for almost anybody daily. Essentially, it lets you see what a podcast or video is saying without your phone needing to play any sound.

Pinning Menu Items to Share

This next hidden gem was initially a part of Android in the Nougat period of 2016. However, removed for a while, and only reintroduced in the Android 11 release in 2021. (God, Google, you’re making me feel lightheaded!)

It can rearrange the applications in the system-level Share menu on your phone, allowing you to maintain your most popular sharing locations at the top of the list for continuous, effortless access. Hoorah, hoorah, hip, hip!

Divided Screen

While we’re considering that small overview menu, write the following on the whiteboard of your mind: There’s a handy function in the same section of the OS that, I’m sure, 99 percent of Android-wielding animals utterly overlook daily.

We are referring to Android’s long-standing split-screen option, which allows you to simultaneously display two apps on your screen. It may be “Split top,” “Open in split screen view,” or even “Splitsy ditsy” (though that last one exists exclusively in my man-brain). Thus, depending on your device and the version of Android hybrid STB you’re running.
